As a busy professional navigating work, gym, and evening plans, I was tired of carrying multiple bags to the office, digging through black holes, and having a hard time finding sleek backpacks for a professional setting. So, I decided to design a multifunctional bag that bridged style and function to meet the needs of today's multifaceted women.
It took over a year of development to create the first MEIA bag, designed to organize and carry everything we need for our career and beyond. Thank you for joining me on this journey in creating sleek and functional bags to simplify our on-the-go life.
It started with an idea.

FEBRUARY - MARCH 2021 IDEA CONCEPTION & RESEARCH
The idea for creating a better work bag was born. The first months were spent talking with women across the world to understand problems with current bags and essential features needed in a daily bag. This research guided the design phase.

APRIL - MAY 2021 DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Design kicked off after understanding what today's women wanted in a bag. Sketches and technical packs were made, and materials and colors were chosen. Once the initial design was created, development of the first prototype began.

JUNE 2021 - APRIL 2022 PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Product development was the hardest stage, where numerous prototypes were created. Each iteration improved upon the bag's features and ease of use before the bag design was finalized. Here is an image of the first prototype created. The bag has come a long way since then.

JUNE - JULY 2022 FUNDED CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN
After having a final product, a crowdfunding campaign was launched to help bring this bag to life. A community of women worldwide supported us in a successfully funded campaign, and the MEIA bag became a reality.

JULY - NOVEMBER 2022 FIRST PRODUCTION
The bag went straight into its first production after the crowdfunding campaign. Once all bags were handcrafted and assembled, I was honored to pack & ship out preorders on the first ever MEIA bags shown here.

SHOP THE MEIA BAGAfter over a year of design and development work, the MEIA bag is available to help organize & carry everything we need for our multifaceted life. We released V2.0 of the bag in October 2023, and we're excited to continue working on new designs.
